Paris-native fencing master Lucien Gamoty competed in the masters tournaments in both foil and épée at the 1900 Paris Olympics, but did not advance past the first round in either. He came from a fencing family as both his father Jean Joseph Marie Gamoty (1835–1904) and uncle Joseph Lucien Gamoty (ca. 1847–1904) were fencing masters. Lucien Gamoty eventually immigrated to Australia in the 1920s and lived there until his death in 1950.
