Biography

Alexandre Lippmann competed in the 1908, 1920 and 1924 Olympics in five events, winning medals in all of them, with two golds, two silvers, and one bronze medal. In 1909 he won the French épée title. In 1984 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Jewish Sports. Lippmann was also a genre painter and was the grandson of the French author Alexandre Dumas the Younger and great-grandson of the Father of the same name, Alexandre Dumas the Elder.
