Biography

Fencer Siegfried Lerdon won a bronze medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics with the foil team. With the epée team he came fourth and in the individual epée was eliminated in the semi-finals. In 1935 he won a bronze with the epée team at the World Championships, and in 1938-39 and 1942 Lerdon was the German epée champion. His home club HC Hermannia Frankfurt won the German epée team championships from 1923-32, 1935, 1937-38 and again twice in the 1950s. The exact team squads are not known. In 1951 he was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf.
