Fencer Stefan Rosenbauer won a bronze medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics with the foil team. In 1931 and 1932 he won the German epée championships, and in 1933 the foil title. At the World Championships he won a bronze with the foil team in 1934. Rosenbauer emigrated to Brazil in 1939 along with his Jewish-born wife (who had converted to Catholicism) and led a photography institute until 1961. He was a trained photographer and also well-known as a portrait artist for prominent people in Brazil. From 1939-54 he was a fencing master at Fluminense Football Club.
