Carlo Turcato was a member of the Italian sabre team that won silver in 1948. He was also the first winner of the Luxardo Trophy, an international sabre tournament held in Padova since 1955. Later Turcato was the first president of Padova section of National Association of Olympic Athletes and Italy’s Azzurri (ANAOAI).
