Marie Léonie du Faucigny-Lucinge, the Princess du Lucinge, was born as Marie de Trévise in 1866. She was entered in the 1900 golf event for women but did not compete. In 1888 she married Rodolphe de Faucigny Lucinge, Prince of Cystria, and became the Princess du Lucinge. It was a short marriage as she was widowed shortly thereafter.
Her father, Jean-François Hyppolyte Mortier, inherited the Château de Sceaux in 1870 from his father. Her father died in 1892 and Marie inherited the Château and its surrounding land of 220 hectares. In 1898 she bought the Bordaberry Estate in Hendaye, with additional land of about 50 hectares. She later resided in Paris and in 1923 sold the Château de Sceaux and adjoining land to the Department of the Seine.
