Bernhard Nooni was on the Estonian basketball team at the 1936 Berlin Olympics but did not play in any games. Nooni started out as a football player, winning bronze medals at the Estonian nationals in 1931 and 1935 with Tallinn JK, and won bronze in 1932 with Kalev. In all, he won 10 international caps in basketball, one in football, and two in baseball. An exceptional all-rounder, Nooni was Estonian YMCA champion in table tennis in 1927, and in 1944 won a bronze medal in volleyball at the Estonian nationals.
Nooni coached the Kalev basketball team from 1937-43, leading them to Estonian Championships in 1937-41 and 1943. He was a member of the temporary board of Kalev in 1941-43 and a handball instructor of the Sports Board of the General Administration of National Education in 1943-44.
During World War II Nooni served several months in the German Army, for which he was arrested in 1945 and sent to rebuild the White Sea Canal, being released in 1947. After the war he coached the Dynamo and Tallinn basketball teams.
