The gymnastics career of Richard Hall was very brief. Born in London, he was a member of the famous Northampton Polytechnic Institute and, whilst he had no major trophies to his name, was selected for the 1912 Olympics, although he was a non-starter.
Hall worked in his father’s cutlery business before emigrating to Canada in 1913, where he became a famer. Having briefly served in the 3rd County of London Yeomanry before the outbreak of World War I, Hall joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1916.
