Born in London, Alfred Musto moved to the Bournemouth area where he was butcher. A member of the Bournemouth Fire Brigade at the 1900 Paris Olympics, he was appointed resident fireman at a new fire station in the Springbourne district of the town in 1902. Musto emigrated to Canada in 1910 and was a fireman in the Regina fire department in Saskatchewan. He was their captain when he retired in 1913. Musto moved to Vancouver in 1920.
