Hungarian handball coach Attila Joósz began his career at the Rába ETO Sports School in 1965. Joósz then spent two spells at managing his hometown team in Győr for a total of nine seasons, winning two Hungarian Cups, one IHF Cup, and a championship silver medal. After coaching teams in Austria he returned to Hungary to coach Veszprém where he became the only coach to lead the team to win the national championship, the Hungarian Cup, and the European Cup in the same season.
In 1991 and 1992 Joósz took charge of the Hungarian men’s handball team and coached them at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. He was forced to retire from coaching in 1995, however, following a stroke. Joósz was bestowed with the Ferenc Kemény Award in 1986 and the Master Coach Title in 1987.
