Biography

Lieutenant colonel Jose Antonio Shiumoto was a Mexican equestrian who competed in competitions during the 1970s. In 1976 Shiumoto was named as an alternate for the Montréal Olympics but did not compete at the Games. Only Juan Roberto Redon finished in the individual event, meaning that Mexico did not rank in the final team placings. Shiumoto was 69-years-old when he died of COVID-19 in December 2020.
