Doubles specialist Daniel Vacek played professional tennis for Czechoslovakia and Czechia from 1990 to 2003. Vacek won three Grand Slam doubles titles and was ranked as the number three player in the world in September 1997. In singles he reached the rank of world #26 in January 1996 and earned more than $4.8 million in prize money during his career.
From 1990 to 2002 Vacek won 25 ATP doubles titles, with his first three victories coming with compatriot Vojtěch Flégl. Vacek also won multiple titles with Cyril Suk, Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Martin Damm, and Jeff Tarango. Vacek competed in the singles and doubles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals in the latter with partner Jiří Novák. Vacek was partnered with Yevgeny Kafelnikov for all three of his Grand Slam doubles titles, winning twice at the French Open (1996–97), and once at the US Open (1997).
