Barry Blanchard was an Australian softball coach who worked with the national men and women’s teams, as well as the Italian women’s team.
Blanchard’s first national role came in the 1995/96 season, when he worked with the men’s national team. In 1997, he became the assistant coach of the women’s team, a role he held until after the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Four years later, Blanchard was the head coach of the Italian women’s team at the 2004 Athens Olympics. He returned to Australia to be a video analyst and selector for the men’s team for the 2009 and 2013 World Championships.
In 2013, Blanchard was inducted into the Softball Australia Hall of Fame.
