Spiro Debarski took up football at the age of 12 with the youth section of OFC Pirin Blagoevgrad. In 1949 he moved up to the senior team and stayed there through 1953, when he transferred to FC Rozova Dolina Kazanlak. After four years with that club, he then moved to FC Lokomotiv 1929 Sofia in 1957, where he would remain until his retirement in 1969 and win a first league title in 1964. He also joined the Bulgarian national team in 1957 and stayed through 1965, with his most notable appearance coming at the 1960 Rome Olympics. There, his country was eliminated in the preliminary round. He was also selected for the 1962 World Cup, but an injury prevented him from playing.
Near the end of his career, Debarski took up a role as assistant manager with Lokomotiv Sofia and returned to that position from 1973 through 1976. He then became the manager of Cyprus’ Nea Salamis Famagusta FC, remaining there through 1980. He also had a brief spell as the manager of FC Yantra Gabrovo during the 1984-1985 season.
