Sabino was born in the Basque Country and was a one-club man as he played only for the Athletic Club in Bilbao. He started his career in 1918 and played in three Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup) finals. After losing in 1920 to FC Barcelona, he was on the winning teams in 1921 and 1923 before he retired in 1924. At the 1920 Olympics, where the Spanish national team played their first-ever match, he earned his only two caps, when he played against Sweden and Italy.
