Biography

Sancho, who was Catalan, was born in the province of Castellón, but raised in Sants, a Barcelona neighborhood. He started his career with CE Sans in 1915, but moved to FC Barcelona after only one season. He played midfield, and as there was no professional football at that time in Spain, worked as a bricklayer, and won two Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup) titles and four Campeonato de Cataluña titles, but after some criticism, especially about his weight, he joined the nascent UE Sants in 1922, only to move back to FC Barcelona after one season when he was convinced to return. During his second time with that team he again won two Copa del Rey titles and three Campeonato de Cataluña titles.

During the 1920 Olympics, where the Spanish national team played their first-ever match, he played in two of the five matches. Additionally he earned one more cap in 1923 against Portugal, bringing him a total number of three caps without scoring. After his active career he had some short stints as coach. Sancho died in the morning of the 25 August 1960 after stomach problems.
