Finnish footballer Ari Tissari played for KTP in three different decades from his début in 1969 until his final season in 1985. In the 1980 season Tissari scored 16 goals for the club, with the team winning the Finnish Cup championship. His performance in the league was rewarded with a call-up to the national team where he scored on his début in a 1–1 draw with Iceland. Later the same year Tissari was part of Finland’s squad for the football tournament at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. He played in three matches, including scoring a goal in their 3–0 win over Costa Rica.
After the Olympics Tissari played in two more international matches for Finland; a 6–1 defeat to Norway in the Nordic Championship and a 2–0 loss to Austria in a FIFA World Cup qualifier. In Finland he played one season for Vasalund in 1981 before returning to KTP, playing with the club until his retirement in 1985.
