Biography

Educated locally at Kind Edward Grammar School, Walter Corbett played most of his football with the Birmingham club. He won three full international caps during England’s tour of Central Europe in 1908 and played in 18 amateur internationals between 1907 and 1911. His later amateur honours came when he was with Wellington Town, who he joined one year after winning his Olympic gold medal. A fast and resourceful fullback, he also played occasionally for Aston Villa and once for Queen’s Park Rangers.
