Eric Fright started his career at Margate in 1936 but after the war he played for Bromley where he ran a large sports goods shop. A wing-half, he became Bromley captain and led them to victory in the first FA Amateur Cup final ever to be played at Wembley stadium when they beat Romford 1-0 in 1949. He moved to Leytonstone in the 1950-51 season. During the 1948 Olympics Eric played in all four Great Britain matches at left-half.
