Joseph Kyle was an amateur international for Scotland. During his club career from 1934-43 he played only for the Glasgow based Queen’s Park FC in 238 League and 53 Cup games, scoring 100 and 19 goals, respectively. Kyle was an inside right. In the 1936 Olympic tournament he was fielded for the first match against China but was only a substitute for the second match against Poland. During the war he served in the Army Physical Training Corps until he was demobilized in 1946 with the rank of captain. He moved to Canada but returned to his native Glasgow in 1952.
