Biography

After playing at the right-half in the matches against Hungary and Finland in the 1912 Olympics, Henry Littlewort moved to centre-half for the final against Denmark. He played occasionally for Tottenham and Fulham, but the major part of his playing career was with Glossop and he won nine amateur international caps while with the Derbyshire club. He was also a notable cricketer and once received an invitation to play for Essex, but had to decline owing to injury. Littlewort later became a football journalist with the News Chronicle. He was taken ill preparing to leave his North London home to report on a match between Tottenham and West Bromwich, and died the following week.
