Frederick Riley’s club Casuals FC was the winner of the 1936 FA Amateur Cup and runner-up in the Isthmian League the same year. In the 1936 Olympic tournament, he was a substitute against China but played the match against Poland in the inside left position. Riley was a member of England’s amateur team that toured New Zealand, Australia and Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) in 1937.
