Defender Norbert Trieloff was on the final East German football (soccer) squad at the 1980 Moskva Olympics that won the silver medal after losing the final against Czechoslovakia 1-0. He earned 18 international caps in total and played 16 matches with the GDR Olympic team. He also played five qualification matches for the 1984 Los Angeles Games, but could not participate due to the Soviet-led boycott of the Eastern countries.
Domestically, Trieloff played with BFC Dynamo Berlin from 1974-87, winning the East German Championships consecutively from 1979-87. With Berlin, he played 246 Oberliga matches, scoring 13 goals. In 1988, he moved to 1. FC Union Berlin, playing 35 more Oberliga matches. After German re-unification, Trieloff moved to Hamm in West Germany and opened a physiotherapist practice.
