Defender and midfielder Dagmar Pohlmann was a member of the German female football squad eliminated in the group stage at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, but was European Champion in 1995. Pohlmann won 37 international caps and scored four goals. She was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award.
Domestically, Pohlmann played with FSV Frankfurt for her entire career (1988-96). She helped them win the national title in 1995 and the German Cup in 1990, 1992, 1995-96. She later became team manager with the German Football Association. Her twin sister Kerstin Pohlmann also played her entire career with Frankfurt (1989-95).
