Biography

Defender Hartwig Bleidick was a member of the West German football team beaten 3-2 by East Germany in their deciding second group stage game at the 1972 München home Olympics.

Bleidick won 32 West German amateur caps from 1968-72, and scored two goals. In 1971 he played twice for the senior national team. Domestically, Bleidick played 114 matches in the Bundesliga with Borussia Mönchengladbach from 1968-73, and scored six goals. In 1970 and 1971 he helped Mönchengladbach win the West German Championship. Bleidick later worked as a football coach and graduated sports teacher.
