Midfielder and defender Jürgen Kalb was a member of the West German football team beaten 3-2 by East Germany in their deciding second group stage game at the 1972 München home Olympics.
Kalb won 48 West German amateur caps between 1969-75, and scored just one goal. Domestically he played 285 matches in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt, Karlsruher SC and SV Darmstadt 98 from 1968-79, scoring 28 goals. With Frankfurt, he won the West German Cup in 1974 and 1975. Kalb later worked as a newspaper advertising consultant in Frankfurt, and started a tennis and golf coaching career working with senior classes in Hessia.
