Helmut Röpnack, a right defender, after starting his career at forward, was a member of the German soccer team at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. He played for Viktoria 89 Berlin, winning the German Championship in 1908 (against Stuttgarter Kickers) and 1911 (against VfB Leipzig). Between 1909 and 1913 he earned 10 international caps. Röpnack was educated as a type founder. In 1935 he died from lead poisoning, a typical disease in that job.
