Adolf Werner was a member of the German soccer team at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. He played for Holstein Kiel as a goalkeeper, winning the German Championship in 1912 against Karlsruher FV 1-0, after they lost the final two years earlier against the same opponent by the same score. Werner moved in 1913 to Victoria Hamburg for one season, but returned to Kiel in 1914. He earned 13 international caps. By profession, he was a chimney sweep. His brother August was also a German soccer player.
