Biography

During the 1970s Ghanaian football forward Peter Lamptey spent his career with Hearts of Oak in Accra, winning multiple trophies. With the side Lamptey won the Ghana Premier League on five occasions (1971, 1973, 1976, 1978–79) and the Ghanaian FA Cup three times (1973–74, 1979), and was the league’s top scorer in 1973. The team also reached the final of the African Cup of Champions Clubs in both 1977 and 1979, finishing runners-up each time. From 1971 to 1973 Lamptey played in six matches for the national team, including three matches at the 1972 München Olympics.
