Mihály Pataki

Mihály Pataki started football at the Ferencváros youth team in 1908. As early as the age of 17, he played in the first division. He won five Hungarian championships and three Cup titles with his team. At the age of 32, he became the footballer of the year. With FTC, he played in 380 games (185 championships, 140 international, 55 national) and scored 280 goals (113 championship, 167 others).

As Pataki also played the violin, it was an interesting habit of his to play football wearing white gloves in cool, rainy weather to protect his fingers. Between 1912 and 1927, he played 24 times for the Hungarian national team and scored 20 goals. He was a member of the Hungarian team at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. After retiring in 1927, Pataki worked for 15 years for Ferencváros as a sports director and assistant coach. In 1930, he was the head coach of the national team for three games.
