Gyula Rumbold played for FTC between 1905-1914. During this period he won the Hungarian title seven times (1905, 1906/07, 1908/09, 1909/10, 1910/11, 1911/1912, 1912/13) as well as one Hungarian Cup (1913). Playing as a right-back, Rumbold was capped 33 times (1907-14) for the Hungarian national team and participated in the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. He fought on the Serbian and Russian fronts during World War I, was wounded several times, and spent several months in a prison camp. As a result, he withdrew from sports.
Rumbold studied arts and spent almost a year in Berlin as a painter. Returning home, he worked as a decorator, artist, and painter.
