Nikhil Nandy was one of four football playing brothers. Anil Nandy also played at the Olympics, in London in 1948, while Sunil and Snatosh played for India in other events. After Nikhil’s 1956 Olympic appearance he went into coaching, leading Eastern Railway and helping them win the Calcutta League in 1958.
