Fulvio Bernardini was a midfielder who played for Lazio, Inter, Roma and M.A.T.E.R. at club level. Internationally he earned 26 caps with the Azzurri between 1925-32, including winning a bronze medal at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.
After he retired as a player, Bernardini became a manager, and coached AS Roma, AC Vicenza, AC Fiorentina, Lazio, FC Bologna, UC Sampdoria, and AC Brescia. With Fiorentina he won the Italian Championship in the 1955/56 season, while he led Lazio to the 1957/58 Coppa Italia. Bernardini also coached the Italian national team from 1974-75. He is a member of the AS Roma Hall of Fame.
