Aredio Gimona was a midfielder who played 285 matches in the Italian Serie A, scoring 21 goals. He played from 1949-53 with US Palermo, but also played during his career with Juventus, Livorno, Milano, Palermo, and Pro Patria, before finishing his career in 1958-59 with Empoli. Gimona played three matches with the national team, débuting on 11 November 1951 in a match against Sweden in Firenze. In a February 1950 match, Roma against Palermo, Gimona had a bad foul in which he broke the leg of Bruno Pesaola, and he was banned for life, but the disqualification was later shortened to one year. After his retirement from playing, Gimona coached from 1962-70, with Pistoiese, Arezzo, Livorno, and Genoa.
