Amos Mariani, a forward, played for 12 consecutive years (1949-61) in Italian Serie A with teams like FC Juventus, Atalanta Bergamasca, AC Udinese, AC Fiorentina, AC Milan (winning the 1956-57 league title), Padova, SS Lazio, and ending his career with SC Napoli for two seasons, one in Serie B. In total he played in 290 matches, scoring 46 goals, in Serie A.
Mariani played four matches with the Italian national team, débuting on 16 July 1952 in Tampere against the United States at the Olympic Football tournament. After the second match at the Olympics, losing to Hungary, he played in the Azzurra jersey seven years later (1959) in two matches against England in London and Czechoslovakia in Praha.
Mariani was a good coach with teams in Serie C such as Sorso and Torres (on Sardinian), Pro Vasto, Montebelluna and also in Greece with Ethnikos Pireo in the 1977/78 season.
