Sandro Salvadore spent his playing career as a defender with A. C. Milan and Juventus, making a total of 403 Serie A appearances, and scoring 16 goals. He won two League titles with Milan, in 1959 and 1962, and a further three with Juventus, in 1967, 1972-73. Salvadore also won the Italian Cup with Juve in 1965. On the International stage, he won 36 senior caps between 1960-70, when he scored two own goals in a 2-2 draw with Spain at Madrid in his final match. Apart from representing Italy at the 1960 Olympics, Salvadore appeared in two World Cups, and was part of the Italian team that won the 1968 European Championship.
