Paride Tumburus played club football for Bologna FC 1909 and Vicenza Calcio. He played 227 matches for those sides, scoring four goals as a defender. Tumburus competed for the Italian national team at the 1960 Olympics and 1962 FIFA World Cup, earning four caps in all. His début at the World Cup came in the Chile vs. Italy group match, known as the Battle of Santiago, one of the most violent matches in international football history. Tumburus won the 1961 Mitropa Cup with Bologna and was in their first post-war Serie A title winning team in 1963-64.
