Biography

Yasuo Suzuki made two international appearances as a defender while attending Waseda University. He made his début in 1934 at the Far Eastern Games against the Philippines. At the 1936 Olympics in Berlin he only played the second game when Japan was easily defeated by Italy. Suzuki replaced Tadao Horie who had broken his arm in the first game against Sweden.

After graduating in 1936 and retiring from active sports, Suzuki worked for the Takashima Sangyou Co. He also served as technical coach of the Japan Football Association as well as coach and manager, respectively, of the Japanese football teams at the 1959 and 1964 Merdeka Games.
