Felipe Ruvalcaba played football for Mexico at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He also was a member of the Mexican team at the 1962 and 1966 World Cup tournaments, although he did not play in 1962. He played club football with CD Oro of Guadalajara, winning the league championship and the Champion of Champions Tournament in the 1962/63 season. Ruvalcaba later moved to Toluca and won a league championship with them in 1967/68.
