Lotsij played in the very first match played by the Dutch national team, against Belgium in 1905, and later added 9 more caps. He captained the Dutch side at the 1912 Olympics. He was a distant relative of sports official, Karel Lotsy, who was the Dutch chef de mission at three Olympics.
