Paweł Sobek played football for the Polish national team, earning five caps, including one match at the 1952 Olympics. He played club football mostly for Szombierki Bytom, from 1945-50 and 1951-64, and briefly played with Gornik Radlin in 1951 in the Ekstraklasa. Sobek ended his career by playing one year for Cracovia in Perth, Western Australia. He settled in Australia, and was later inducted into the West Australian Football Hall of Fame.
