Biography

Teodor Malm played on various positions for AIK Stockholm (now AIK Solna) from 1904-21. He then played his last season with GIF Sundsvall. With AIK he won three Swedish cup championships in 1911, 1914, and 1916. He was selected for the national team at the 1908 and 1912 Olympic Games. In London he played the first match against Great Britain, which Sweden lost 12-1. Four years later in Stockholm, he was an unused reserve. For Sweden’s national team, he played a total of 26 games from 1908-1920 including Sweden first ever international game in 1908 against Norway. Malm captained the team in his last six games including his last appearance in 1920 in a friendly against Finland. However, he never scored a goal for the national squad.

In 1914, Malm was overwhelmingly voted Stockholm’s best football player when the newspaper Nordiskt Idrottslif conducted a survey among readers. He won the “Stor Grabb” badge in football in 1926. After retiring from active play he continued to work for AIK and held various positions including team manager. He also played bandy for AIK and helped them win the Swedish championships in 1909 and 1914. Bror Teodor Malm worked as an office clerk.
