Biography

Defender Lennart Samuelsson played most of his career from 1947-56 with IF Elfsborg, except one season with OGC Nice in France in 1950-51. With Nice, Samuelsson won the French title in 1951. He was capped 36 times with the Swedish national team between 1950-55, and was on Swedish teams that won bronzes at the 1950 World Cup and 1952 Olympics. After finishing his sporting career, Samuelsson worked as a football coach, serving as head coach of IFK Luleå from 1957-62, IK Brage from 1962-66 and 1971-73, and Örebro SK from 1967-70.
