Biography

Football defender Peter Mutkovič joined Slovan Bratislava in 1965 where he played in more than 160 matches for the team over the next decade. Mutkovič was a three-time winner of the Czechoslovak Football League (1970, 1974, 1975) and won the Czechoslovak Cup with the team in 1969. At the 1968 Mexico City Olympics he played in all three of Czechoslovakia’s matches in the preliminary round of the tournament. Mutkovič also played in two international matches for the Czechoslovakia national football team in October 1970, with both matches ending as draws. After a lengthy career with Slovan Bratislava he played for ZVL Žilina for the 1975–76 season before retiring from the sport.
