Athar Ali Fyzee was a medical doctor who trained and practiced in London, giving him ample opportunity to play on the continent. Fyzee played at Wimbledon 11 times between 1910-33, with a best finish in singles of round three in 1926. He also played at Roland Garros in 1925-27, 1929 and 1934, making the round of 16 in 1925 where he lost to René Lacoste. Fyzee played Davis Cup for India in four ties between 1921-25, winning four of seven matches. His brother, Ali Azhar Fyzee, also played Davis Cup for India, and at Wimbledon, and they frequently played doubles together.
