Hipposthenes of Sparta was a five-time wrestling champion at Ancient Olympics, winning in 624, 620, 616, 612, and 608 BCE, after winning boys’ wrestling in 632 BCE. His son, Hetoimokles of Sparta, followed him by winning four titles, in 600, 596, 592, and 588 BCE, after winning the boys’ wrestling in 604 BCE. Thus, the family dominated wrestling competitions at Ancient Olympia for 44 years and 12 Olympiads.
