Kapros also won the wrestling crown in 212 BCE. At a later Pythian Games he repeated the same-day double victory in pankration and wrestling. It was written of him that he was “the first mortal since Herakles” to achieve this feat. In the finals of the pankration, Kapros defeated the defending champion, Kleitomakhos of Thebes. However, Kleitomakhos won the boxing title in 212 BCE, making him the only athlete other than Theagenes to win both titles at Olympia.
In 212 BCE, when Kapros entered the wrestling and pankration events, Kleitomakhos entered the boxing and pankration. Kleitomakhos appealed to the judges to reverse the order of competition and hold the pankration prior to the boxing, to give him more chance in the pankration. This was done, but Kapros still defeated him.
