Born into a wealthy family of industrialists, landowners, and philanthropists Đorđe Dunđerski devoted his life to tennis. Born in Austria-Hungary in 1902, Dunđerski and his family moved to Switzerland to avoid the peril of World War I. He took up tennis with him becoming the champion of his high school. Following the war he initially enrolled at the University of Zagreb to study law but dropped out to continue to play the sport.
During the early 1920s Dunđerski played tennis for the Swiss team, holding the Swiss International Championship from 1924 to 1927. He also represented the HAŠK club in Zagreb, before representing Yugoslavia at the 1924 Paris Olympics. He was eliminated in the first round of the singles to Brian Gilbert [GBR] but managed to take the match to a fourth set. Dunđerski and compatriot Iván Balás were also scheduled to play in the doubles but did not start the tournament. In 1926 he competed at Wimbledon and the French Open, reaching the third round at the latter. A year later he and Balás represented Yugoslavia in the Davis Cup, with the duo playing against India.
After his playing career Dunđerski turned to coaching until World War II broke out. Despite inheriting a large estate, his land was confiscated by the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia once the war was over. He was unable to get another job and was forced to sell what little he had to survive. He was penniless when he died in nursing home in 1983.
