Gisèle Guibert, a native of Paris, was one of eight members of the French artistic gymnastics team who competed at the 1948 London Olympics, finishing with an individual score of 46.65. It was also at the Olympics where she would meet her husband, rower Christian Guilbert, who sought her out after mistakenly receiving a piece of mail addressed to Gisèle (owing to the similarity of their surnames) at Olympic village. They later married and went on to have two children together.
