Biography

Dorothy Summers runner-up to Denise Goddard in the 1959 senior women’s Welsh Gymnastics Championships. As a result, she was selected for the British squad to go to the Roma Olympics the following year, where her best position was 99th in the floor exercise as the British team finished 17th, and last, in the team competition. Summers’ finest moment came in 1963 when, as a member of the Mynachdy Youth Club, Cardiff, she won the British Women’s Team Championship.
